Levellers and early confirmations for 2010!

Following your feedback, the bands that you’ve most wanted to see make a return to Wychwood have been Levellers and Dreadzone. Your wish is our command! We are delighted to welcome both back to Wychwood in 2010. The Levellers need no introduction; famed for their storming live shows, we welcome Mark Chadwick and the band to our Friday night headline slot. Dreadzone’s fusion of dub, reggae, techno, trance, and folk will be filling the mainstage arena on Sunday night. We also welcome Adrian Edmondson & The Bad Shepherds who packed the Big Top this year to the mainstage in 2010.

More Fun

As always, Wychwood is a festival not only of music, but crammed full of other things to see and do, from comedy to cinema, and from workshops to the healing gardens. We already have a number of special things lined up for 2010:

We welcome back our friends at the Roald Dahl Museum and Storytelling Centre with more Roald Dahl stories and fun making. Our first Children’s Lit Fest confirmation is the wonderful Ian Whybrow, author of the Harry & The Dinosaurs series of books. Ian has written over 100 books and is published in 27 languages, and he ranks tenth among all writers borrowed in UK libraries. This year, the best part of a million copies of Harry and the Bucketful of Dinosaurs will be distributed free to children starting school across the country through the Booktime programme. We also are very proud to welcome English National Ballet to our workshops progamme in 2010. Expect inspiring dance workshops for budding ballerinas of all ages and abilities based around their 2010 repertoire including Swan Lake and Cinderella – more details to follow in the coming months.
