As a member of Afro Celt Sound System, The Imagined Village and Trans-Global Underground Johnny Kalsi has become one of the UK’s most sought after session musicians, but it’s The Dhol Foundation that’s his pride and joy, the organisation that delivers a now legendary wall of sound, global rhythms and thumping contemporary beats with the effervescent Johnny at the heart of their live shows.
The band featured in the music of Hollywood films, Gangs of New York and Incredible Hulk and worked with Peter Gabriel on the soundtracks for Rabbit Proof Fence and The Last Temptation of Christ. They were also the opening act with STOMP at last year’s Royal Variety Performance.
If you’ve been lucky enough to catch them at Wychwood before you’ll know how good they are and if this is your first time then you are in for a rare treat.
